Trip story highlights

Sydney we first met you in 2008 when as a young couple we’ve decided to spend our 2 months summer break in Australia, working and travelling.

I would have never imagined that 9 years from then and after a quarter of my life spent here, I would call you home! Like in every relationship we had ups and downs but I keep being impressed by everything you offered us over the years.

Every weekend sounds like a mini-holiday thanks to the nature coexisting with the city. We’ve walked so many kilometres and hours from Palm Beach down to the Royal National Park but can’t get tired of the views, the cliffs, the ocean and strong waves, the wildlife and breath-taking landscapes you display. Each beach, national park, suburbs is worth a visit.

We’ve discovered your local specialities like Vegemite, your many footballs (everything is called football here!), your multicolor laughing and barking birds (Kookaburra, Cockatoo, Galah to name a few) so different to our parisian pigeons; your sunshine, your Jacarandas. Everything seemed exotic at first but quickly became part of our identity.

Over the years your optimism transformed us as everything feels possible here. We’ve worked, travelled, enjoyed life and most importantly we’ve made many mates here and we will deeply miss you guys (and I’m not saying that because you stored our stuff!)  We’ve shared so many memories together from the many walks, cosmopolitans dinner, drinks, barbecues and our maaaaaany Friday nights spent at Hugos Lounge in KX (Cedric won’t tolerate I don’t mention the Hugos in this ode to Sydney!)

Thanks for welcoming us Sydney, we’ve been lucky to spend almost 7 years here. It’s time for us to have a bit of a break and discover new things but we will be back !
